Gravelbourg visit

Kellen and I finally went to Gravelbourg this past week to visit the farm. We surprised Grandpa Gerry for his birthday. Kayla and Nolan were staying at the farm for the week, so Grandpa had all his grandkids there! It was also very fun for Great Grandpa and Ruby to meet Kellen for the first time. Too bad it was such a quick trip, but I am going to go back for a bit this week.

Easter hike

We set out together for the top of the hills, but Ian and I didn't make it all the way to the top with Kellen. But we still got a good view! Yes, even 3-year old Arwen made it to the top! (I was impressed!)

Easter weekend

Well, I can't seem to post a picture...the "Done" button won't come up. Does anyone else ever have that problem? After 5 attempts I give up. But I did get 5 cards stamped and put together while I was waiting for the computer to do it's work, so all was not lost. Easter weekend had its shining moments, but I've had better. I had a bad cold, Ian went skiing and left Kellen and I on our own. (I will be happy for Ian to get away to the mountains...and I'll make sure he remembers next year when it will be his turn to take care of Kellen while I go on my own!) It was nice to spend time at the Koops' with Bill and Mary on Friday. We even went for a nice hike with Kellen in his chariot. I was going to post a picture, but it was not to be...

I need to learn how to take a video on our camera and post it. Kellen is doing knew things everyday that I would love to share. He plays with toys now and he imitates me when I talk to him. He's so cute! I think I'll go pull out my manual now...

Stealing Daddy's Heart

I think Kellen was out to steal his daddy's heart last night. Kellen had just woke up from a 3 hour nap, had a bath (his favorite time of day), and just finished a good feed. So, he was in perfect form for Dad.

Nature Day

I thought Kellen looked like a nature boy when I dressed him this morning in his moose sleeper and squirrel booties. Thanks Monica and Roy for the very cute sleeper. He had a very wakeful day. I don't think he slept more than 20 minutes at a time. After lunch he was fussy and sleepless so I finally put him in his new Chariot and off we went. I love the Chariot. It's so comfortable for him and so easy for me to run with. I have always stayed in town so far but get tired of the same streets in this small town. I decided to go out of town today so I headed out to Fort San where I know the TransCanada trail is. The only bad part is the somewhat busy road with no shoulder and a little bridge to get to the start of the trail. However, on the way back I saw there is more trail than I realized and it heads back into town, avoiding the bad road and bridge. It was beautiful...reeds and tall grass with lots of birds, no view of the town, I felt I was really enjoying nature with no distractions. Much to my surprise the trail comes out behind the old hospital where I used to work. I couldn't believe I didn't know about this trail before. As I walked the few blocks to my house, I noticed there was another sign for the trail on the street I was on, and then I saw another sign... Can you believe the trail markers go right to the park in my backyard, about 25 ft from my garage? Now you may be thinking I must be completely unobservant, but I claim it is the most poorly marked trail. Anyhow, I am looking forward to running on the trail this summer. And, yes, Kellen does enjoy it. He slept the first little bit, until I stopped on the street for a visit and he woke up. He really likes to be in motion constantly. He was quite happy to stare at the hills as we went by. I think he enjoyed our nature day!

Smiles!

At 5 am the other morning Kellen ended up our bed by himself. I thought it looked funny when I walked back in the room--so small for such a big bed. I really thought it was funny when I realized he was smiling all to himself...

Photo Shoot 2

Kellen participated well in his second photo shoot, other than a lack of smiles. I was in Regina for a dr's appointment so I stopped at J'nea's for awhile. Her twin girls were very excited about the baby. I had to change his diaper when I first got there. The girls started saying "baby pooped" and repeated it over and over again... One of the girls, I wasn't sure which one it was, was smiling at Kellen and he was giving her big smiles back. That was fun! I will post more of our photo shoot when I get the pics from J'nea (she took about 120). She took some really fun ones of Kellen and I together.
